'World Cup 2011' Draft

The Tiger King
Cheers, thanks to marc, he's been great to work with in this draft.

I really think Wahab Riaz was an absolute steal to get so late in the draft (chosen in round 8). I don't want to jinx him, but he's a good value pick to be the tournament's leading wicket taker in my opinion.

I haven't looked at all the attacks, but I like KK's 3 quicks, they should all do well.
Wahab Riaz does have a fantastic yorker in the best traditions of Pakistani quicks (although he uses it very sparingly). His SR atm is in the mid to late 20s IIRC. Definitely a great pick for round 8.

We'll take Shoaib Akthar.
Something tells me S Akhtar will get smacked all over the park.

Its possible. Still, considering the other options around at this point in the draft he seemed like a reasonable pick. He may go for a few runs but might take a few wickets too. Some of the minnows wouldn't like his pace much as well so I think he might do ok.

Yep, don't think Pakistan would've lost to Ireland in 2007 if Shoaib was playing.

One of the best teams on paper here. The bowling line-up is excellent and IMO it is the bowling that will make the difference on these flat decks.

Is the bowling line up really that excellent when 2 of the 3 carry the threat of disappearing at 10 an over?

Someone check Teja's room for a balaclava and baseball bat.

Fairly certain he had something to do with this.

A bad bowling line-up
Could've commented on our star-studded batting combination. ;)

I'd agree, however, that the bowling unit is the weak point in our XI, and perhaps not picking up more specialist bowlers early in the draft will hurt our chances, but I think we've got a good mix.
