Twenty20 has barely been being played 5 minutes; if and when it brings about quicker scoring in ODIs and Tests it won't be for at least a little while yet.Twenty20 has brought about quicker scoring in both of the longer games, surely?
Must be stats to settle this one anyhow?

So the great drop in bowling standards in the 2000's equals about 0.3 runs an over. Batsmen have capitalised on this 0.3 runs an over to inflate their averages.I can make sweeping generalizations too.
If he was less a) obnoxious and b) generally clueless maybe a few more tears might be shed over that as well. His above post didn't even have any obvious relevance - the only thing that connects it to mine is historical trends.Lol @ gwo. Shows up every few months, picks one of Richard's theories apart, then leaves.
What's that supposed to mean ?13 batsmen 50+, 3 batsmen 50+....
There are lots more teams playing ODI's like Ireland, Kenya, Bangledesh amd Holland which somehow means that players that didnt play them are better than players that do.What's that supposed to mean ?
This.He is a bit obnoxious. Makes good points though.
It was relevant because you were off on a trademark rant about how the 90s was a time when Zeus Ambrose and Thor Akram powered lightning bolts towards batsmen of unsurpassed and unsurpassable bravery and ability on pitches that had previously been used for Whack-a-Mole. It's such a shame that these days we're left with Gollum Steyn and Ephialtes Asif to pathetically try to get useless batsmen out on heavily tarmacked motorways. Woe betide at the fate that has befallen our once glorious game.
Etc. etc. etc.
