What if?...

Mister Wright

Warne would have been slapped with a ***ual harassment suit and have been banned/neutered within a year of his debut.

Would par scores in ODI cricket have been higher or lower if teams played 10 players a side?
I'd say they'd be higher as you would probably sacrifice a bowler to keep your 7 or so batsmen, and there would be a lot more batting all-rounders in the game.

What if overs were still 8 balls?

Less adds, but more promos during the cricket:@ ODI would be 40 overs

What if Trumper had been a professional English batsman?

he would have had the money to get treated for bright's disease and lived longer

also...

there may not have been too many express fast bowlers around... or our definition of "express fast" would have been different

What if kenya had gone all the way in the 2003 World Cup
They'd have test status now to boost players' averages even more and Test Cricket would be well and truly on it's way out.

What if an English and Australian captain had been convicted of match fixing?

The Ashes would be a farce

Um...you're meant to add a question too...I reckon they would have had some bigger consequences than just that mind.

What if Kerry Packer had never made World Series Cricket?

What if Kerry Packer had never made World Series Cricket?
Packer invests in rugby league instead & cricket becomes the poor relation to other team sports. Talented youngsters chose to pursue other sporting outlets; Shane Warne was an unremarkable and somewhat portly reserve-grade St Kilda player, Kevin Pietersen is a flanker for Natal Sharks, Sachin Tendulkar's goals have lead India to a hat-trick of Olympic hockey gold medals & Brian Charles Lara has won several golfing majors.

What if: 135-7 in England's 2nd innings of the 3rd Ashes test in 1981 had become 156 all out instead of 356 all out?

Ian Botham would just be another player ruined by the politics of English cricket, he may never have been picked again, or at least for a while. Commentators would have always said that an ashes winning display was missing from his resume, he may not have been compared to Kapil and Hadlee. It would also have been one less sporting event for England to be nostalgic about. Kolkata 2001 would have seemed even more incredible.

What if Alan Donald had made that run in the 1999 world cup?

South Africa would have the one World Cup victory, and someone else would be called chokers.

What if Imran Khan had been a specialist batsman?

Would still have been a better cricketer than his cousin Majid. He'd have mentored a long line of superb Pakistani batsmen like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. However he'd have had his judgement seriously questioned years later when he declares his protege Mohammad Sami to be a better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar

What if Kumble played for India in the 70-80-90s and Kapil did so in the 90-00's?

kumble would have played two tests for india and faded away with chandra, bedi and pras getting more caps. kapil would still have been considered a great all rounder. in effect india's winning record would have remained the same in 70s but would have been inferior in 80s and 90s.

What if wasim akram didnt have diabetes?

India would have made 400 but Saeed will still hold the record.

What if Paul Strang played more cricket for Zim?

Champions Trophy would die.

Cricket would be more popular in the WI, NZ, SA etc because of the higher profile.
WI wouldn't exist as a single entity in the Olympics. Olympics would probably do no good for them.

What if Test cricket was played with a one bounce catch out rule?

Pakistan would be number 1.

What if Greg Chapel was still India's coach?
The Australian Centre of Excellence would require a new head coach.

What if England had never lost at The Oval in 1882? Would we still call Australia v England "The Ashes"?
