Only weather, a riot or a natural disaster can save the 4-0 scoreline now, the gap between the two sides is wayyyyyy too big.

Is this the biggest mis-match in a 4 test series ever?

One thing India can take out of this series is that they finally managed to start a tour in the way they intended to finish it. No more early-tour blues for this team; their preparation ensured they were as good in the first Test as they were in the next two, if not better. Duncan Fletcher already paying dividends.

Haha, semi-serious I guess. I was definitely taking the piss, but I do find it funny to look back at the "India always play poorly in the first Test so they'll be fine" attitude that became prevalent around here in the lead-up to the second Test. I expected India to play a bit better than they have too but, as I said at the time, just assuming you'll turn it around in the second Test because that's how it's gone before against lesser sides is a pretty dangerous attitude. With so many fans and pundits saying it and thinking it, I reckon some of the more inexperienced or relaxed players might've just started to expect it without putting the work in.

People can point to the IPL and lack of preparation as much as they like and I agree they've played their roles in making the margins of victory so great but really, India just aren't as good as at cricket as England at the moment and they've been thumped to prove that.

Here's the thing, though. A lot has been made of India's inexperienced and frankly questionably Test-standard "other" players.

But one striking similarity between this thumping and the thumping last summer is how thoroughly the English bowling has owned the opposition team's best batsmen. Of the big "eight" from the combined Indian and Australian sides - Watson, Sehwag, Ponting, Dravid, Clarke, Tendulkar, Hussey, Laxman - only two or three have really done well at any stage. From that list, that is simply unheard of in nine Tests.

Yeah, no doubt. That's all part of the "India not being as good as England at cricket" thing. Winning Tests is very much an "anything you can do I can better" kind of arrangement, and India's bowlers aren't even a third as good as England's at the moment.

Popped a lot when Aus were dominating but having good players is only part of the winning equation. The best teams have that but also prevent the oppo's best players from doing their best.

It's why they were always going to struggle in England; they have the good players thing down but were never a good enough team to prevent England's good players from doing their thing too. Only going to get worse as their Test side is replaced with a generation of blokes who can make pretty looking 20's at a run-a-ball but get agitated if they're prevented from playing their pet shots for 10 minutes.

I might be wrong but I think against those batting line-ups, we've only conceded 400 three times in eleven Tests? Two of which came against Sri Lanka

The funny part is that India have not once managed to cross 300. As good as the English bowlers are I do believe that there has been a lack of application by different batsmen at different points in time. Heck, even the **** Pakistan line-up crossed 300 once in 4 tests. The Bangla boys did decently well and the SL line-up crossed even 400. So it really has been some piss poor batting and not just excellent bowling
