It'd be their sixth consecutive victory actually. The England record for consecutive wins is 8, in the 1880s. It's probably the world record but I haven't checked.

England have whitewash India three times, in 1959, 1967 and 1974. They also beat them in the one-off Golden Jubilee Test. India have whitewashed England once, in 92/93.

Looking at what Australia and the Windies managed, Australia actually won 9 series in a row between 2005 and 2008, including the match against the world XI.

The main problem is that I've never seen Broady play at this level and for so long, and he's been the most integral part of us going 2-0 up in the first place. If he can maintain the standard he';s played to so far, then we might have a chance, but I don't think he will.

No one could possibly maintain the standard Broad's been at so far this series.

Sixth?

After SA (draw), twice vs Bangladesh, then Pakistan, Aus and now India. What did I miss here?

It's not just Broad! England, imho, have better players in most positions. Englanf weakest bowler is probably better than India's strongest. And though India have some top batsmen, I think England's top 7 is margianlly better than India's.

Haha if Broad had taken all the wickets he should have gotten and still conceded the same number of runs (highly unlikely, as it probably would have been considerably less from getting Dravid + Yuvraj), he would be averaging eight with the ball.

Eight. So low I use the word.

His economy rate is also pretty absurd - two. (point one)

That is ridiculous. Not only has he taken the rest of the world by surprise he has even amazed his own fans. If (and it is a big if) he maintains this for the last 2 matches this will be remembered as HIS series as much as Botham 81 is in fans eyes.
