Those international players who smoke's are stupid. They dont know what kind of problem with cause smoking.Cricketers specially have to avoid smoking due to cricket being a long game and smoking would certinly not help you keep your momentum going perhaps we have witness shoaib akhtar going what he went through with his smoking habit.

I would never smoke although i love the smell of it(dont know why)My father use to smoke but he stopped smoking for about 6 years. My dad is a good example of how easy it is to stop smoking then to rather continue.
My father smoked for 10 yrs and quit abt 30 yrs ago

I smoked for 10 yrs and quit 5 months ago (Cold Turkey, no medications)...I do get occasional craving but I have controlled it

Save lotta money and heart rate and lungs feel very clear

Lol ok, never have been a great judge of character. Pretty sure smoking's not going to help his chances with the Black Caps tho...

Apparently Chris Martin isn't as bad as he used to be.
Although I couldn't stop laughing after the South African test at Eden Park last year after he got all those wickets. Someone interviewed him after the game, and he said the first thing he did when he got to the changing room was have a smoke..lol.

Last time Australia toured here, Warne got into huge trouble when a kid photographed him having a smoke during the ODI at Wellington. Apparently Warne abused the kid & tried to take the camera off him or something.

Wasn't Warne being sponsored by a nicotine chewing gum manufacturer to give up at the time?

Who d'you think?
Same person the numpty means every time.
Not sure what the hell he's on about with the blue vain crap, but of course he's wrong again if he thinks I smoke anything - which wouldn't be a surprise, given that he's been wrong every single time he's tried to decipher something about me.

Most of the aussie team smokes: Langer, hayden, martyn, gilchrist, lehmann all of them. Jon Lewis of england does nobodies mentioned him.

And the greatest smoker of them all. Phil Tufnell

You can't smoke 20 a day and bowl fast

Good on you mate.. I read the other day that if you give up after less than 10 years of smoking the effects are not very bad at all.

Hey Mr Casson did you see David lloyd going round the england changing rooms in the fourth test and finding some porno mags? His reaction was class.

I'd not claim to be a fan of porn-mags, but if someone wants them, that's their choice - it doesn't matter, it doesn't adversely affect them.
Fags, however, do.

I read that if you give up and you haven't died in 7 years' time then you're basically back where you were before you started the filthy things.

I really am quite shocked at the volume of cricketers that apparently dabble in the fags.
Lehmann, Warne and Lee I'd heard of - and the other one from the other odd country here and there (Martin, Boucher, Butcher, Key, Inzamam [always thought it was outlawd in Islam - oh well, got that wrong :(], Crawley).
I even got apprehensive when I got to the passage in Hussain's autobiography where he referred to a bit where Atherton had earlier described him as smoking. Imagine my relief when he said it was just a one-off; evidently he's had the odd one here and there in the odd "difficult" situation.

It is all personal choice - if someone wished to smoke then that is their choice.

Ya, it takes a long time to recover though

Here is the list http://quitsmoking.about.com/cs/afterquitting/a/after_quitting.htm

As much as I used to enjoy these cancer sticks, I feel free of guilt now

All credit goes to awareness in North America, they are on ur back constantly with a gun to quit...every cig packs in Canada are required to have pics of the effects of smoking

For eg.,
