*Official* Third Test at the WACA

With the momentum Australia have at the present time heading to Perth it's no time to start rolling the dice at the selection table. Should they win in Perth they'll then have the luxury of thinking for the future with their selections for Melbourne & Sydney.
Pick and stick is good— I wish, I wish we had picked Hughes at the gabba. Anyway, you're right, it aint gonna happen.

Keeping Bailey is just as much of a dice roll IMO.

But I'd have Hughes at 3 and move Watson to 6.

Ben Stokes is a spud and if the ECB have any common sense they will drop Swann for Monty as he is better suited to our pitches.

Oh and Root at first drop..LOL
What.

a) Swann is better than Monty.

b) Root has been England's best batsman other than Bell, all from the number 3 position. The guy is an opener in first class cricket.

If you watched anything other than Australian tests you would've seen that he's scored match saving innings against New Zealand when Boult and Southee were destroying the English batsmen. The guy is a good player. Anyone with two eyes can see that.

Swann is beter than Monty on english pitches where there is more sidespin and less bounce

I cant undestand you english blokes backing Swann up ahead of common sense, Swanns record in Australia is abysmal.

And if you think Bell is better at 5 than Root then I can see why you blokes are getting thumped.

I'm not English.

Bell is scoring runs at 5. Root is scoring runs at 3. Neither of these positions are the problem. Instead look at positions 1,2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 as the problem.

Australia's should remain entirely focused on winning in Perth and though there are medium to long term questions to be answered it's no time to address them now.

Bailey's fifty in Adelaide was pretty important tbh. Was looking like a full blown collapse was on the cards when he came in.

Australia apparently have Coulter-Nile & Bolinger on standby should need to rest Ryan Harris in Perth. But the batting will remain as is.

What I fear from this test is England working out how to play again (which is unlikely given the venue). What I want to see, however, is further descent into abject hopelessness.

Couldn't believe he played a shot like that after complaining about a fairy light in the background

Does anyone actually have the footage of him complaining about the fairy light in the background. That's what I want to see!

So annoyed I missed this whole moment. FFS
