Have the feeling that all Boult needs to do is land one of these outswingers on the stumps and Broad would only have about a 30% chance of keeping it out.

What a disaster area .Can stokes explain why he cloned Root after lunch by bowling Broad instead of Potts.why is the best young batsman who plays for Yorkshire not playing whike the perennial failure from the south is at 3
Yes bowling Broad clearly the biggest problem arising today

England fans are going to be subjected to Bairstow in the team for the next 12 months and I just can't see him doing much bar the odd decent innings.

Absolutely outstanding pouch at third slip nothwithstanding. The first one in particular was stunning

Pope's selection was always ridiculous given his test record over the last 12 months and there were alternatives available. Probably Bairstow too. No idea what to do about the openers as we've already got through loads of them lately.
As Brumbers said, Compton had to play, I know we've been playing musical chairs with our batting line-up, but we've clearly not got the right combo ATM. There was actually a fair few bats who have done well in the county championship in the run-up to this match. B-Mac had not seen them though as he was out of the country. Yet honestly who could complain if the batting line-up will look like

Compton
Bohannon
Abell
Root
Haynes
Brook
Stokes
Foakes (depending what happens here)

Look you can say Class is permanent form is temporary, but we've got precious little class ATM, so we may as well go with form.

Broadly agree, but I think you're a bowler short there. And I'd prefer to see another specialist opener.
