Please excuse the title, I don't like it but it gets my question across.
Only a couple of years ago Billy Godleman and Sam Northeast were being talked about as very special players that could possibly be the mainstay of the England batting lineup for a generation. Both are still under 22 yrs old but their FC averages hover around 30 and both have done little this season (a combined 1 century in 28 FC games.)
Clearly it is possible that people got carried away with praise very early in their careers. However, what do they look like at the moment? Have people seen a progression? Are they stagnating? Were they never that good in the first place? etc
I ask as I have heard far more than I have seen of these two highly touted individuals.
