Haha, Valerie is such a legend. No one else threw over 19.03m, and she had six throws over 20m.

Boxing,Wrestling,Hockey and Tennis is getting all the big crowd in these games.
Even Weightlifting got a decent one.

Usually athletics and swimming get good crowds, but the Indian crowd is only interested in events they have any chance of winning.

There has been a restriction of tickets in shooting ,or that would have gotten a better crowd as well.

The Indian Shooters have done exceedingly well along with the wrestlers .

Gagan Narang has won 4 out of 4 gold medals so far(including 2 world records and 2 game records) and has two events still to go.

While Vijay Kumar has won 3 golds(2 game records) so far and has one more event to go.

Allan Davis wins the men's road race, Hayden Roulston who got a silver in Beijing for New Zealand, get's a silver medal, and David Millar picks up the bronze. Had Mark Cavendish who is riding for the Isle of Man had been able to be in the front group, he would of won IMO, but alas he didn't have a good day and wasn't up there.

Also, the English sent over a second string cycling team, but is that really the only sport that they've done that with?

Caribbean athletes have done well at the high jump, haven't they?

Bahamians Donald Thomas (2.32) and Trevor Barry (2.21) took gold and silver in the men's high jump, while Sheree Thomas of Jamaica came second in the women's equivalent, with Lavern Spencer of St Lucia third.

Trinidadian athletes took home silvers in the women's shot putt and long jump.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian who got gold in the women's 100, has now failed a drug test. That's a real poisoned chalice, isn't it? Vincentian Mayers gets the gold now....

Heh, Pearson creamed 'em that time. Clearly a class above in the Hurdles.

Hopefully now the CH10 coverage can move on from talking about how the other gold was taken away from her, and how hard the preparationg for the hurdles now was blah blah blah every 5 minutes. Awesome run and all, but fmd over all the crapping on about it - loved how she told Maher that in the interview.

**** that was awesome from Hamblin. She was completely spent after getting silver in the 1500m on Friday, but she comes out and produces this amazing sprint from second last at the turn to grab the silver in the 800m. Heroic stuff, really.
