So on what basis would you give the other side any credit in case of Kapil ? Neither BCCI nor any of its regional organizations had anything to do with his talent or his growth as a bowler and everything to do with his decay as one by using him as a horse (Strike Bowler) and as a donkey (stock bowler) both and it is not a surprise that we still have not produced a single bowler who could be anywhere close to what Kapil was. It's bit of a Chicken of Egg situation, here. Both wouldn't have been succesful without each other.
Pretty naive to see it one way tbh. And infact i would give more weightage to the opposite side you are giving all credit too.
BCCI's best product as pace bowler has been J Srinath and while he had the skills of a fast bowler he didn't have the heart of one and IMO you are not a fast bowler if didn't have the heart of one.
Am I naive in thinking like that, I don't think so. Growing up in the 70s and 80s and reading about all those injustices served to our cricketers by these incompetent BCCI crooks was something that made me very proud of what our cricketers achieved and did.
It was the stars like Kapil and Sunny (Kapil a lot more than Sunny) who by their sheer performance on the field made BCCI change their dirty ways. As a fan, I still can't forget the day when Kapil was dropped from Calcutta test and how mad the fans were.
