Auction draft II - ODI

pskov

International 12th Man
Zaheer Abbas seems to me someone who is, if not quite underrated, often overlooked. Member of the hundred hundreds club, an excellent test record, but it's rarely mentioned that he has a stunning ODI record considering the era he played in. For my money he must be one of the 5 greatest ODI batsmen ever.

IMO, there's 30-90 minutes still left. Doing mine AWS. Anybody else get the feeling that this is starting to get a bit like doing your taxes? Or is it just because I'm almost broke?

Happy enough to get Mendis given I nominated him, and for a very reasonable price. Our home ground will most certainly be low, slow turners at this rate though!

Very happy with Dean Jones, the man who showed batsmen a whole new way of playing out the middle overs. Not very happy with the $1069 I have left.

Shane Watson (RHB, 40.64 @ 84.29, RFM, 27.87 @ 34.4)

Sunil Gavaskar
Chris Gayle
Michael Clarke
Kevin Pietersen
Mohinder Amarnath

Brad Haddin
Andrew Flintoff
Daniel Vettori

Reserves

1) T Chappell

Happy to have gotten Gayle in that round for a reasonable price.Though now i am pretty sure i could have gotten him for less.

Not only does he give me a quick scorer at the top to complememnt Gavaskar(being one of the destructive batsmen of the generation) ,he along with Clarke, Amarnath, And Pietersen will give me my 5th bowler and sixth bowlers.

Ah, glad to get Mathews for that price. Contrary to some of my countrymen's opinion, I think he is the future of Sri Lankan cricket and will continue to do great things in this format.

1. Geoff Boycott
2. Sachin Tendulkar
3.
4.
5. Jonty Rhodes
6. Angelo Mathews
7. Shakib al Hasan
8.
9. Andy Roberts
10. Joel Garner
11. Muthiah Muralitharan

12. Robin Singh - possible inclusion.

On further analysis he was the cheapest in that round. I paid lot more for him than half the other available players. Awesome deal and my nomination lol. Whoohoo..

Whatever it takes!!!
I m not sure what to make of getting Waqar.. On the one hand, I am absolutely thrilled to have gotten one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time and an attack of Hadlee, Waqar and Gillespie certainly is one that will send some shivers down most batting line ups, including most of the ones here.. ;)

But OTOH, I am still searching for balance in my side.

Oh well, this just means Strang finally goes out and I got my last 4 done... Hadlee, Gillespie, Waqar and Price is a more than decent bowling line up.. And that added with my gun middle order, makes things sound less depressing.. :)
