Mohammad Yousuf or Younis (in tests)

I think Yousuf was the better batsmen when at the top of his game - he had those insane couple of years when he was impossible to bowl to. Over the whole of their careers, it's fairly even. If picking an all-time Pakistan side, I take Younis Khan as he can bat at number 3, which is something...

It's going back a bit, but Goonesene might be worth the spinner's spot. Was a nice article about him on Cricinfo not so long ago...

    Top 10 'Reverse All-Rounders'

Tino Best for the West Indies? David Capel takes the prize in my mind for least useful in either discipline, with 15 tests and nothing to show for it. Gavin Hamilton perhaps had the worst test career of anyone, but he had a great world cup for Scotland and I think he would have done better...

    Associate Nations' All Time XI

Rawson averaged 23 with the ball in first class cricket (and 20 with the bat) playing mostly for Zimbabwe in the Currie Cup. In the 80's Zimbabwe hosted lots of international sides, of varying standards (from "international wanderer" type collections to test-nation "A" or young international...

    Cricket's great all-rounders

Pollock is seriously underrated here too - a similar bowling average to Akram with a batting average 10 points higher (I know he had a lot of not-outs in his record). Another who rarely gets a mention is Mushtaq Mohammed. He just didn't bowl enough I guess, with fewer than 1.5 wickets per...

    Associate Nations' All Time XI

Ravi Shah has a great record for Kenya so I'd have him in as an opener. And Varaiya has to have the spinner's slot, his record in "international" matches is phenomenal. If allowing players who didn't quite make it because they played before their sides became test nations, I'd include Rawson...

Best all time XI for each country

Yep, send Ponting or Tendulkar out against Larwood, Allen and Voce bowling short with four short legs/leg slips and three men back on the hook, with no armguard, chest protector, barely a thighpad worth the name, and of course no helmet, and see if they could average 56....

    Descending all time XIs

Number 35 I think, still a few batsmen averaging over 40 and bowlers in mid 20's to be had. Since I see we've been including South Africans who never played much or any test cricket, I figured I'd throw in an associate player... Alan Rae Geoff Pullar (edited later, originally Jeff Stollmeyer...

Best all time XI for each country

Only 10 players in the last one... a spinner to add maybe? Tayfield. (I'd have included Andy Flower as keeper, and maybe Shakib for Dev in the sub-continent xi, just to keep it representatitve of all nations...)

Saker rates attack as good as great Australians

Fair enough, though I think there are a few quicks with averages in the 25-26 territory who I'd happily rate as great - Willis, Hall, Snow, Gillespie, Shoaib... Thomson and Larwood too.
