  • Cheers mate, you too. Thoroughly enjoying cricketweb, good fun site of like-minded cricket nerds!
Oh yeah, good point that. I think there'll only be one wicketkeeper left, and I need one, as does one other member IIRC, so I think I'll probably end up having to bid fairly high there. Plus Fred Trueman who I'm sure we should try and get between ourselves. Haha.
Oh, you're not using questions - awesome. Definitely an original idea, then.

The other Sheep Draft(s) have had questions, in which you have to select a player that fulfils the criteria of the question. But I like your version better.
    Haha, it really is hilarious.

Meanwhile, I'm happy with the running of the Sheep Draft, as long as the questions all allow the potential for the picking of an ATG. After all, I did win the last Sheep Draft. ;)
Oh no, I'm incredibly offended. In fact, I feel this forum has no place for outsiders, and will be leaving the forum as such. It's just no fun any more.
Yeah looks like it, hopefully can bag some points yeah. Will have to raise my game next round though imo.
The best keeper question is an easy one - has to be Alan Knott, by a fair margin too, though Farokh Engineer was a great favourite too. Fast bowler is trickier - overall probably Marshall, but I'm a great Sylvester Clarke fan too, although at his absolute peak Waqar was a bit special
I think Mallett might be being a bit harsh there. The reality is that when Viv was at his peak there weren't any leggies of note except Qadir so no batters got a long look at them - Viv's record against Pakistan is not the best, but a couple of poor early series spoil his record, but leggies weren't the issue.

As for the Davo and Lindwall books I do have them but don't recall reading them - those sort of 50s and 60s autos don't tend to be too good, but no one has done a bio of Davidson so there's no choice with him. There is a biography of Lindwall by a bloke called John Ringwood, which I also have but again haven' t read
Much appreciated. Just hope it finishes at a decent time for me.

If it's overnight (I'm GMT time) and I've been outbid at say 3am, you're welcome to try and up the price and get others to splash a bit more. And of course, if you get him, it wouldn't be the end of the world, so that wouldn't matter.
Well Gibbs is my only real weak spot, so I'd love to replace him with Grimmett. However, if the price goes too high, I'll leave it.

    Why? You interested?
    Average value of wicket:

Tyson: 24.83 (cancels out his ridiculously good average to an extent)
    Croft: 30.62
    Benaud: 28.85
Hey, was going through my VMs and found I had not responded to your request on running the value of wicket analysis for some other bowlers you mentioned. Just did that, here are the discount factors:

    Tyson: 74.8%
    Croft: 76.1%
    Benaud: 93.7%

    In line with your expectation?
And I'll of course leave any opener that comes up.

As for the paceman, do we hope there's two left, or do we go at it? It would be nice if there was at least one opener, two pacers, and a wicketkeeper left. You'd think so, anyway. I know that neither Colin Croft nor Fred Trueman have been taken yet. So maybe we can agree something there?
Apologies, have had limited access over the past week or so due to travelling.
