  • FTR, I initially had Alec Bedser as the 120th player. But because I liked the way you ended the auction I replaced him with Jason Statham (who has a worse standardised bowling average in comparison, according to my system) :)
Michael Hussey bowls seam-ups, but I think India's Men's Archery Team could have done better than they have in the Olympics.
I think it'll be unfair on the format if you and kingkallis don't end up with 1 player each now. Also, you should be the one who decides which player you want between Sutcliffe and you-know-who.
I really don't know. It depends who you think will be the last player in the auction - I think it'll end up being Colin Croft. I suppose it's just a case of who you want/need more.
Haha yeah, but they're all quality. I wonder how weldone's simulator will punish having a spinner at first change. Let's hope it does so accordingly, because I imagine Kumble will be overrated by the simulator as well (as he generally is in statistical comparisons).
Haha yeah, I didn't mean to be particularly stingy so it's all worked out very well. I should do particularly well in the voting round where I am allowed to use Walcott as a keeper. Looking at the teams, we really should be top two, third at worst. Weeman could be a challenger.
When I say get a fair deal out of the auction, I mean, get a fair deal out of our coalition.
Haha I agree. I just think we should both try to get a fair deal out of the auction, and with the top 10 wicketkeepers in history all gone, I'll probably struggle to get a quality one. So for that reason (Hutton+Croft/other quality quick = Trueman + wicketkeeper) I'll go for Trueman. Hope that's okay. :p
Not a bad bunch - I'm sitting on Donald/Mahmood, so needing a spearhead up the other end. Your call man!
I don't really know who is left, but Colin Croft surely can't be left out of the top 120 players? Surely? Even if he is, there'll be a quality quick left, I'm sure. Either way, though, if we decide soon, we may be able to end this Auction Draft very soonish. Enjoying the coalition. Haha.

Bowling attack is currently Steyn and Lindwall opening up. I need three quality quicks though as Gibbs isn't really up to standard (particularly statistically) and the closest thing I have to a fifth bowler is Hammond.
I'd absolutely love Trueman, personally. Old favourite and all. There's him and Croft, who's obviously a slight step down still. Reckon Hutton + Croft would be about fair in comparison to Trueman + whatever keeper ends up being shoved in.

    Thoughts?
Yeah, if you can get him and still have 2million or so in the bank, then we can just stroll into the thread and take the players we want. Haha.
(Meanwhile, I left Grimmett for weeman as he now owns Kumble, Murali and Grimmett - overkill).
