I actually genuinely think this might be a good thing for India provided they make the appropriate decisions following this
Say bye to Rahane and Pujara
Say bye to Mayank at least for overseas tests
Say bye to Umesh and Ishant and invest in Prasidh Avesh and isHan porel.

Winning away is no God given right. If they really thought they could just stroll in and conquer then they're stupid ****s who wasted an incredible opportunity they'll never get again.

KOACH can also say bye to his last grasp on Indian captaincy in any format.

The Hawkeye thing is obviously ridiculous, but the "Supersport focuses like a hawk on opposition malfeasance and turns a blind eye to what SA is doing" has been a low key conspiracy theory bubbling at least down here, and evidently in India too, for at least ten years, probably more.

Looking forward to watching Dhawan & Jayant Yadav & other youngsters in ODI series. All hail the retirement home under Dravid the visionary

what are SA pitches like in winter?
Unknown. Only played against nz at that time in 2016. Centurion test had one good innings by SA and the bowlers dominated the other 3 innings.
Durban was a wash, only for about before the rain came and then the outfield couldn't drain for 4 days. Was looking like the bowlers were going to dominate.

Oof Jansen probably deserved the MoTS, but KP has been the point of difference in the batting where it's really counted particularly in this Test.

You think Dravid alone is picking the team?

Seriously some of the comments you see on this website. Lokesh/Kohli singlehandedly come up with all the bowling strategies, Dravid alone is picking the squad...things don't work that way.

Which is pretty silly if you know anything about how the SA press treats its sportsman, very tabloid like; happy to praise when doing well but always looking for a way to pull them down.

A wonderful series, and a wonderful advertisement for Test cricket. Lots will be said about India's loss and what it means to them and their legacy (which I don't think it tarnishes heavily - they're a superb cricket team), but there needs to be huge credit given to South Africa. To come from 1-0 down and then negotiate two potentially very tricky fourth innings chases so convincingly to win the series was fantastic. I hope they kick on from here - a resurgent South Africa can only be a good thing for the game.
Yeah I think in Peterson and Jansen they have two promising cricketers that can help them rebuild their side.
