India need to stop acting like this is Perth and they are facing Curtly Ambrose. Score some runs ffs.
tbf Both batsmen are trying to cement their place in the side. Understandable why they dont want to take any risks. Plenty of time in the match though

Yea, but Australia won't mind this. A couple wickets here and it could be a very dangerous situation with so few runs. I understand why selfishly they don't want to score any runs but Dhoni has to tell them to at least score a couple off every over.

I said this was a 275-300 pitch, so India need to get to that point at least - batting last will be very hard against both the pace bowlers and the spinners.

The thing is India don't need to rush here, they are ahead in this series, the Aussies have contained them well in this first session but containing has never won a match, Doherty just looks like another Paul Harris to me, no tricks, just basic stuff, you're gonna need a big spell from one of the pacers early after lunch to really put India on the back foot, otherwise they'll just keep picking off runs and before you know it they'll be 50 ahead and the Aussies will be under pressure.

Hayden bringing up good points wrt batting against offies as a left hander. How's he been as a commentator?

Don't mind India soaking up overs while scoring so slowly. One or two wickets and they suddenly have piss all runs on the board and the tail exposed.

Windie Weathers, are you actually from Brazil. De Onde Voce?

Bit nervous and throws too many words into his points. Also says 'us' and 'we' when talking about the Australian team. Still is making interesting points and may mature into a good commentator:)

Straying down the leg side to Indian batsmen is a recipe for disaster. almost everyone in Ranji is strong off his pads

Fair enough, but they can barely hit the ball off the square and are not working any singles.

When a medium pacer like Henriques, whose bowling ability is derided by many, can bowl 7 overs for 3 runs on a decent batting track then you've got to wonder what's wrong with the batsmen.

When you score this slowly it gives the bowling side the mental edge because they feel they're on top and a wicket is near. By comparison, if India were 1 for 62 from 15 overs (not 34 overs)then the Aussies would feel under the pump.

In any case you'd much rather be in India's position right now but my point is that with more positive intent India could be really on top.
