Have to say that I didn't know that rule until I pulled the **** out of a short pitched ball from a spinner and it smacked into the short leg fielders scone, bounced up and was caught. Started to walk off but was called back.

I don't think he has many other options to score though, he's a loose cover driver, and the slow pitch is making it hard to hit straight through the ball.

I think it's anything that's external protection. So off the shin guards is ok. As they're under his trousers.
