Yeah just dreadful. But he had been for... pretty much ever, so I guess there's no reason for the BBC to finally shunt him

Genuinely think Peter Drury is awful. Don't get the praise.

His commentary can be summed up by this short video:

All you gotta do is add needlessly long words and a **** accent.

US coverage so far is using Americans for game commentary not the English ones they use for PL. Have to listen to their stupid phrases like "go ahead goal", "post up" and "end line".

That is the polite pre watershed way to describe him.

I don’t understand what’s keeping him employed. Other bell ends like Savage generate heat by loudly stating bad opinions, so you can see the commercial reason for them. Lawrenson just acts like a teenager at a family holiday he didn’t want to go on.

Haha was about to mention evra. He lookd completely uninterested. And had a couple of very uncomfortable moments with Larsson too.

Haha, it was him giving Aluko a round of applause every time she made a decent observation/said something that suggested she had actually researched the teams they were watching that I was getting at. Did not come across well.

Ah so I wasn't the only one who noticed that. Was so awkward.

How the **** can Lee Dixon look at that replay and say there's nothing wrong with Switzerland's goal?

Even spouting the 'contact sport' rubbish.

I think everyone got over Lawro's whole "camp and unimpressed" schtick at least a decade and a half ago, yeah.

Watching football really seems to pain him too; whatever joy he once took from the game has long since gone.

Mind you spending a career in Liverpool's dressing room with a voice that sounds like a cross between a Preston version of Alan Bennett and a unhappily closeted provincial theatre critic would embitter the sunniest disposition, I'm sure.
Cricket Web's current Premier League Tipping Champion

    - As featured in The Independent.

"Rory Burns wafted and whooshed, hit a few, edged a few more and batted at times with all the graceful serenity of a man trying to force his way head-first through a privet hedge." - Barney Ronay on the Surrey opener's maiden test ton
