Boje’s international career over

After more than a decade in the international arena, South African left-arm spinner Nicky Boje has announced his retirement from international cricket, wishing to focus for the remainder of his career on playing domestic cricket for the Eagles.

Boje, who played 43 Tests and 115 internationals and proved his all-round capabilities with 100 Test wickets alongside his name as well as a number of crucial innings with the bat, says that while he has fond memories of his time in the South African team it was time he devoted all his attention to the Eagles.

The 33 year-old’s retirement is effective immediately, so a replacement is going to be needed in South Africa’s 15-man squad for the series against India. No replacement has been named yet.
