Aussies fear Symonds absence

Australian fast bowler Nathan Bracken has spoken out on Andrew Symonds arm injury he suffered in Australia’s loss to England on Friday.

Symonds suffered a bicep-muscle strain which forced him to retire hurt on 39 not out.

Bracken said in Sydney prior to the team leaving to Melbourne that “missing Andrew Symonds out of any team is a big loss, especially how he plays the game.”

“At the moment we don’t know how bad it is so we’re hoping he’ll be around for the finals. If not then we’ve got to adapt,” Bracken added.

Australia will face a fired up New Zealand side on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground who are at full strength for the first time this summer with Scott Styris returning from injury.
