Ashes Ticket Meltdown

Thousands of dissatisfied ‘Australian Cricket Family’ members were left fuming as the system designed to ensure that they had first pick of tickets backfired.

All grounds experienced very strong sales for the first three hours after ticket sales opened, with all the allocated tickets to the Fifth Test in Sydney sold out within 70 minutes.

Frustration levels built as the throngs tried to purchase tickets but were left with only the continual refreshing of their computer screens as consolation in the vain hope of purchasing tickets. If they were by chance lucky enough to connect with a ticket seller by phone, they were often placed in long queues before they were able to purchase tickets from harassed ticket staff.

It was enough to test the temperament of any loyal cricket follower.

A further ticket allocation to all Tests will be released on 19th June with members of the public including overseas cricket fans able to purchase their tickets at that time.
