Afridi & Iqbal called up

Shahid Afridi and Faisal Iqbal have been called up to the Pakistan one-day squad as cover for Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Yousuf.

Inzamam is in doubt after he needed three stiches to his finger during the third one-day international against the West Indies while fielding. Doctors have advised the Pakistan captain to rest the finger for three days and ensure it feels comfortable before returning to the playing field.

Yousuf’s wife is very ill placing him in doubt while Younis Khan is also likely to miss the fourth one-dayer after attending the funeral of his older brother who passed away in Germany last week.

Afridi who was dropped from the squad initially returned to domestic cricket where he made a century and a half-century along with taking four wickets in a first class game which impressed the national selectors a Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman said.

The fourth one-dayer is at the Multan Cricket Stadium on 13th December.
