Funny to see both Australia & England with alot of spinners tried over the decade, before they each settled on Hauritz & Swann who were both basically around the whole time

Slater and Hogg should be in this side.
Slats na off my head only in the Ashes 01 he was bad. Elliot was worse although he played one test on horrible pitch.

Those quicks where worse than Hogg i'd say. Plus for the spinners, Casson & Cullen :puke: certainly worst than George...

I think Ajay Ratra was a far worse player than DDG. Would throw in the likes of Harvinder Singh and Sairaj Bahutule as well.

haha here we go. I'll only pick two openers so I'm not cheating :p

New Zealand (test)

Michael Papps
Richard Jones
James Marshall
Peter Fulton
Daniel Flynn
Grant Elliott
Robbie Hart
Grant Bradburn
Brooke Walker
Kerry Walmsley
Mark Gillespie
Harsh on Walmsley tbf. He only played one test in the 00's and picked up two wickets at 23.

Slats played 16 Tests in the 00s, had 1 ton and an average of 34, which in comparison to the rest of the Australian batsmen of the decade is pretty shocking.

He's by no means the worst player to have played for Australia in that time, but guys like Rogers etc. had only 1 Tests, whereas Symonds at least averaged 40 and was a handy enough bowler.

TEST
Neil Ferreira- grinder who tried hard but was never going to succeed
Barney Rogers- not a test match opener, decent ODI record though
Alester Maregwede + woefully short of class
Vusi Sibanda- the mental strength of a village 2020 slogger
Stuart Matsikenyeri- better than most but embarrassing at times
Craig Evans- way past his best, and never that good in the first place
Mluleki Nkala *- bits and pieces
Graeme Cremer- taken apart like a young Bryce McGain
Keith Dabengwa- A couple of useful contributions, one of the better in the team
David Mutendera- Classic "who?" selection done in by politics
Waddington Mwayenga- a sad, sad case of poor selection

ODI
Cephas Zhuwawo- slogger who should never have played for Zimbabwe
Piet Rinke- ditto, with the proviso he could score against the weaker nations
Terry Duffin *- never an ODI batsman
Friday Kasteni- too young and scarred for life
Alester Maregwede- woefully short of class
Tinotenda Mawoyo- what did he do?
Tafadzwa Mufambisi + understandable but he still wasn't good enough
Richard Sims- textbook Zimbabwean bits-and-pieces offspinner
Keith Dabengwa- what has he done recently? what's his role?
Waddington Mwayenga- feel for the kid, always have done. Got a try-out at Worcester IIs recently
Tafadzwa Kamungozi oh dear. Made Cremer look amazing

I feel harsh picking the test side because several of those players have improved a fair deal since the last test Zimbabwe played. I have fewer qualms about picking an ODI side however I still feel pity rather than anger at the selection of these players.
I'd have to agree with all your picks there. It's quite diappointing to see players who did have natural talent like Matsikenyeri, Sibanda, Duffin and Ferreira who all are promising players but have just been unable to step up and perform while others like Kamungozi, Maregwedede, Zhuwawo and Mawoyo who you just wonder how they even made their way to the national side.

Terry Duffin never really struck me as a talented batsman. He always seemed like a very limited batsman with a lot of guts and determination, but could never rise about his deficiencies.

All those batsmen > James Marshall :p. No Papps either? Horne and How are better imo. I didnt include Guptill because of his age, likewise for Southee. Harris is a fair shout, shame he wasnt given a go in a position he might actualy succeed in but on what we know he is right er...up...there.

ODI

James Marshall
Mark Richardson
Daniel Flynn
Neil Broom
Gareth Hopkins
Paul Hitchcock
Tama Canning
Robbie Hart
Andrew Penn
Warren Wisneski
Lance Hamilton

Whose idea was it to let Richardson play ODIs? Robbie Hart also a all time wtf.

^lmao @ that bowling attack.
But on your basis stated above Broom & Flynn would be considered too young aswell one would think. Plus James Marshall has an epic 161 to his name:p
