Oh dear, leave the both alone.
I wonder if Wasim had ever debated with himself whether he was better than McGrath (or vice-versa) as much as we have debated.
Wasim wrote in his bioautography that he wished he was Australian. Fact.

Understandable... Had he been born as an Australian, he would have less dropped catches off his bowling and would have been priviledged to bowl more in favorable conditions to pace bowling...besides being exposed to other positive influences like better coaching etc etc...

The grand-finale voting thread should have 3 options:

1. The better cricketer
2. The better Australian cricketer
3. Caps lock gives me multiple orgasms

Had there been no John Snow, there would be no Imran.

Had there been no county cricket, there would be no John Snow.

Had there been no cricket, there would be no county cricket.

And there would be no Geoff Boycott's mum...

Fact.

Actually Geoff Boycott's mum would be the only one to exist despite all these conditions. Her son would have still been a prat though.

Her son might have been a football coach in that case, introducing a new formation of 10-0-0.

Akram, to answer the OP's question, since he wished to be Australian. Doesn't matter what type of a comparison you do between the two, Akram always comes out better.

Imran Khan's autobiography will be helpful in understanding how John Snow's mentoring helped Imran to reinvent himself as the great bowler we know. If Imran's autobiography is anything to go by, then Snow's mentoring played as much part in bowler Imran's formative years as Imran's mentoring in bowler Akram's (and Waqar's) formative years.
