Captain Cricket
State Vice-Captain
It was obvious that he was trying to adopt a more "conventional" bowling action in the Perth test. And it was even more obvious to me that he was trying to be more upright at delivery point, not his usual all over-the-shop self.
This, to me is one of the disadvantages of over-coaching in our game. Here we have one of the most exciting fast bowlers in a long time with an unconventional action. He is very effective with this action. However, it appears to me that the coaches are trying to make him develop a more stock standard action.
My advice to Tait would be to go back to your old self and don't worry about being too front on at delivery point like the coaches are encouraging him to do at the moment. If he is effective very side on and with his head low at delivery point giving him more pace, then let him be.
