These guys were extremely attacking batsmen. Entertainers, and because of it thrown many innings away. They had their share of technical weaknesses, but on song, they made Tendulkars and Laras look defensive. This is however about their bowling. All four are part timers, and off break bowlers. All four had beautiful, balanced, fluid actions. Who was the best bowler out of the four.

Whatever be his technical deficiencies Sehwag still deserves to get his name spelled correct at least one.

Unlike the others, Hooper wasn't really a part timer. He bowled over 100 balls per Test and took nearly 200 ODI wickets. He was probably the most naggingly accurate of the four, but barely span the ball at all. It would probably be more appropriate to call him a right arm slow bowler, rather than an off spinner.

The beauty of watching Hooper bat, bowl, and catch in the slips.

A lost art.

Him and Kumar Sangakkara were artists with the bat.

Mark Waugh’s action when he bowled medium pacers was a thing of beauty too.

I'm never not going to vote for Viru in a poll like this.

For a brief time while Kumble was waning, Bhajji was bowling flat, and Kartik was being ignored, he was legitimately our best spinner.

Should have bowled a lot more. Severely underrated.

I thought that was due to circumstances. Waugh, Aravinda or Sehwag in that WI team would have done the same IMO, given the lack of spin options they had. Above three were in a era, where a legendary spinner ruled the spin bowling for their countries.

I can't seem to find any good videos covering de Silva's or Waugh's offspin bowling. Anyone able to share some?

Sehwag made finger spin ***y. Anyone who has watched him bowl who can then say with a straight face that it's a boring form of bowling has lost their mind. He's all curves and angles and drift and loop. Pure aesthetics. I genuinely cannot think of a finger spinner who is nicer to watch.
