One-from-each-era draft 2014

Haha just checked... he has a perfect split of 84 matches in the two eras. Pretty unique I would think.
Ponting's Bradmanesque period occured between 2002 and 2006 when he made 5813 runs at 74.52 during 52 Tests.

If you have to take 10 consecutive years then his best decade was from 1998 to 2008 where he averaged 62.53 during 172 innings.

So Ponting's peak seems to straddle the Murali and T20 Eras near exactly. But overall he is probably biased toward the Murali Era (1995-2004) as far as performance is concerned.

Yeah, but fail to see what this has to do with the pick. Do you mean to say that if someone picks Ponting for the 2004-2014 era, only his performances in that era should be considered? Nah. The perfect 50-50 split gives the pick some great flexibility

Not sure if it is 8 or 12 hours for a pick but Coronis picked almost 20 hours back and it was weldone --> ankit --> Monk after that.

Interesting to note a few players who are usually taken in R1 or early R2 are still available late in R3 in this draft...

Thats because of the strategies being planned and executed. This draft is fun! I am also planning for an old era pick.

I'm not sure if I'm happy with my Bradman/Sharma pick or not. If one of the two players I want slips thru to my next selection, I think I'll be sitting ok.
