*Official* Third Test at the WACA

I'm not fussed with the amount, Ponting ****ed up the X decision, Norths been hanging on for a while and scoring tons when on the block, Katto forced, the Bollinger one feels weird, you just have to assume it would be due to fitness, and some bold attempt to give Johnson the best chance to gain back something or some bull**** like that.

Johnson in for dougeh? :-O Otherwise alright, if true.
I agree 100%. At least with Smith at 6/7 we have, "in theory" 6 six bowlers which is good for Watson, and a much stronger tail. Not sure SS is up to it with the bat, but can't really be any worse than North. Dussey must be 100% sure now that he is never going to play a test.

However, Johnson playing is a ****ing joke.

Squad has been leaked to me and on Fox Sports.com.au

North out, Smith in
Bollinger out, Johnson in
Dohers out, Hauritz in
Katich out, Hughes in

And maybe Siddle out, and Hilf in

Carnage, gentlemen.

And not before time.
Not really carnage when you are just reshuffling the pack with other players who haven't performed consistantly though. Carnage would be 3 debutants coming in.

Johnson in theory sures up what we, in theory, lose from North as a batsman I guess, a stronger lower order, with Harris. They giveth with the one selection, taketh with the other, eh

So does Hauritz.

Personally though I think Smith's more likely to be successful with the bat and less likely to be successful with the ball than North at the moment, so they've sort of done the opposite of what they think they've done, IMO.

So it's three quicks, a seaming all rounder, a spinner and a spinning all rounder. Two spinners in Perth? Reckon D Hussey and Usman unlucky tbh, but thank god no North.

He is certainly more likely to score between 10-99. Also a gun fielder, might just give the team a spark with a run out or great catch, something that has been missing a bit the last couple of tests.

TBH, I really like these changes. I am most surprised by the Smith for North change, because I totally agree with it. I was very worried that they'd make Smith bat at #8 and take a specialist bowling spot. I really like that they're bringing back Hauritz as well.

In fact this is close to the strongest side that we can field IMO.

Thank **** North and Doherty's gone. Say what you want about Haurie, he looks like Bradman compared to Doherty. Smith's also a much younger (and better) model for North as well.

Slightly annoyed that they seem to be alternating the quicks too much, mind. Particularly given Johnson's played no cricket since getting dropped.

Heh, I don't mind Smith/Hauritz for North/Doherty (would have preferred Usman to smith as a batsmen but anyway) but their crazy keeping on swapping out our two best wicket-taking bowlers (Johnson/Bollinger) yet keep on picking blokes who flatter to deceive (Hilfenhaus in particular)

Can only presume MJ had a great net session....

Not sure if I like Smith being in there or not. Guess I'll have to see what they do with the bowlers but right now I'm thinking Usman or Hussey would have been better selections.

Are we sure Dougeh has lost his place simply due to form? As others have mentioned he seemed pretty out of sorts, not in great shape physically, and there were fitness concerns coming into Brisbane which may not have been worked out in Adelaide.

Both better batsmen and certainly look more capable of being a solid no. 6 at this stage

If report is correct, I'm just happy the selectors have finally realised that it's time to look forward
