Truly few top-order batsmen can piss away a start quite like Simon Katich.

Ponting booed to the wicket again, as the English show their class again. Can't wait til the soap-dodgers visit again next year.

Really bad shot from Katich. No foot movement, played the ball in the wrong decision and picked a ball too short for the drive.
Afaic, he's just not an opening-batsman. Never has been.

Jaques and Watson ftw.

EDIT: Really distasteful from the crowd. By all means fire-up when Freddie is dominating, but a bit of respect for your opposition wouldn't go astray.

PHil would be there if not for injury, though I am concerned about watson, he does appear to want to smash every delivery and is holding himself back. If he can be moulded into a matty hayden type he could become invaluable !

Jaques... I kind of forgot about him. Looking at things now, what a huge loss he seems to be for Australia this series. He had an excellent start to his career and has bags of experience over here.

Seriously, if Hussey or North fail again is there a case for dropping one of them for Hughes and moving Katich down to 4?

That was out, wasn't it? Serious turn for Swann. Yup, in line. Dead.

& bowled! What a ball!!!!
