****ing hell, the ref in the NZ-Belarus football game is ****ing atrocious. There's been three or four two-footed/studs off the ground challenges from Belarus players, without even a yellow card, then an NZ player gets one after making a completely clean tackle running back.

Gotta say, I love pics like this.

The Lawman chats to Michelle, whilst Schmeicel and Fred the Red look more interested in the football, full of win.

Never seen synchronised swimming in my life, so haven't ever had the chance to hate, but then 99* posted this photo of the Aussie team elsewhere on the internet

Can't believe it isn't the most popular sport for males to watch at the games tbh.

Maybe coz most males have access to porn, so don't need to watch the worst sport at the Olympics to have a hand-shandy?

Seem to remember some Pakistanis being sent to jail for bowling a couple of no-balls and in the process defrauding the public etc

As this is far worse, it will be interesting to see how long the Chinese and Koreans spend in the big house

What? You can't actually think that?

People manipulate results in group-phase tournaments all the time.

It's faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar worse

The Pakistanis bowled a few no-balls for cash

There is no evidence that they tried to alter the course of an innings let alone match or series

These guys have not only tried to fix matches but also alter the course of an entire competition

They have ripped off the public and stand to benefit financially from it

Given the precedent, they should, at the very least, be subject to a criminal investigation

It wont happen but that's simply because the IOC is inherently corrupt and the British Gov"t wont risk an international incident

Firstly, on the facts so far, there is no involvement of bookies. That immediately makes it better.

Secondly, how is it that much different to South Africa manipulating the run rate against New Zealand back in 2001 (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) to ensure Australia missed out on playing in the final in the Australia tri-series?

Such an overreaction. Its a disgrace that it happened, and full blame should go on the organisers.

Aus did the same in the 99 WC.

It's a nothing thing unless it turns out they got paid by bookmakers or the like to do it

I mean, I guess you could say they didn't, because Aus still won, but the point is, in the final group match they changed how they performed in an attempt to benefit in the knockout matches. and it's just common sense to do so
