Wimbledon would normally be starting tomorrow. Some people actually questioned the decision to call it off as being too early. They'll be lucky to get next years tournament in.

Not a groundbreaking thing to say, but ****ing hell Evans wasted so many years acting the absolute tit. He was never going to challenge the elite for slams but if he had a brain he could have won a few 250 events here and their.

Heck worse players than him have had one-off runs past quarter final stages in slams.

I've watched some tennis last few weeks, some decent stuff in America with Keys, Kenin etc playing, didn't find the lack of crowds an issue but heh when you watch test cricket you get used to it.

Wimbledon are paying out First Round loser prize money to everyone who would have qualified for the tournament based on the rankings. A bit of a life line to those at the bottom end of the scale.

From next summer (assuming Wimbledon takes place) they'll be seeding strictly by the rankings instead of making up their own based on grass court performance in the past. The courts now are so slow that the days of the grass court specialist are long gone, so I think it's a good idea.

Do you know why it's so slow now? Is it deliberate or something else?

A so far unnamed player within the US Open biobubble has tested positive ahead of the start tomorrow.
Paire has tested positive in the french bubble, it's a shambles.

Oh and Djokovics Union is just appalling, I mean a Union not a bad thing, but the reasons given, they don't want to be involved with WTA, equal pay ick, annoyed how some of the players from the infamous adria tour was treated, and apparently the final straw was they didn't want the day suspended for BLM, after Osaka's protest. blimey wouldn't like to be the PR person for that little lot.

Novak has not come out of this year well, outside of Serbia, if he thinks he wasn' given due "respect" by crowds before, just wait until the crowds are back. I am rehearsing my boos from now.

Edmund managed to compete with Djoko for a time, but I don't think anyone ever seriously thought he was going to win.

Sad news away from the court with Carla Suarez Navarro being diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Prognosis is generally good if caught early so hopefully she'll make a full recovery.
