I'll repeat, never seen a player hit the ball so cleanly in all my time watching the sport.

Djokovic noted at the time that those at the top of the game are being able to negotiate their punishments by using expensive legal teams. Meanwhile, Tara Moore, a little known English doubles specialist, has received a 4 year ban for a similar offence.

There is no consistency in punishments, it's all about who you are and what you can afford. Sinner and Swiatek may well have made honest mistakes, but others have done likewise and been punished more severely.

There are two sports where the levels of fitness have always astonished me. How tennis players can go for 4 hours or more playing at such a high intensity seems questionable (you don't do that in team sports).

The other is cycling!!
Tennis isn't that physically hard, compared to cycling or other true endurance sports like long distance running or swimming.

Edit: Not to say that doping wouldn't help, it certainly would. Just that there's also a very ,very significant skill component beyond the pure physical of those other sports, which mean the most doped athlete won't always win.

Yes, but it's the ability to execute that skill at a consistently high level whether 5 minutes or 5 hours into a match that, for me, raises questions. Although I do think there's an argument about whether it matters - in skill sports you watch because of the deployment of that skill, rather than the physical endurance, so maybe doping, if it helps enhance that skill, isn't as bad as performance enhancement in faster, higher, longer, stronger sports like athletics.
