A dismissal like that always seemed on the cards. He never really seemed like he could concentrate and settle.
Haha yeah not surprised to come home and see he'd been dismissed like that. I'd mentioned it a few times that he looked in CBF mode.

Need Kip to post an overly-personal explanation about his gf or something

Dammit Santa. Don't want this to be one of those fast-scoring innings where you have a great platform, get overconfident and end up posting less than you should be.

Make sure we get 500 please, unless they're very concerned about rain.

ffs. Get home, watch two balls and then Santner gets what I can only assume is the first good ball of the day.

Doesn't look too bad though there's always uncertainty when occasional showers are forecast. Perhaps it's more that the pitch may flatten into a real road and they want to give as much time as possible to bowl SL out twice. This innings has definitely accelerated the match and increased the likelihood of a result.

I'll still be annoyed if they don't get 500 though. Bat well tomorrow morning, hit out for a bit and maybe even have time to declare and bowl a few overs before lunch.

Surprised Wagner isn't batting above Southee, especially when there's only a couple of overs before stumps.

Cricinfo mentioned his 'subdued celebrations'. Didn't see what he did, but surely that's just Gup's style? He's not really the jumping fist-pump type.
When he hit the winning boundary to win a T20 and bring up his century against South Africa in 2012 he went off. Otherwise, is fairly measured in his celebrations.

Could well be a decent score, but NZ should be disappointed with this. Really ran up the white flag after Baz was dismissed. We really need Watling to find form, our batting looks so much mor vulnerable when he plays like this.

It seems the team strategy is to automatically go into cbf mode upon the fall of the seventh wicket. Unless we're slogging out I'd rather see Wagner at 9, he actually gets behind the ball and looks like wanting to stick around.

As for Southee and Boult, the first of the two to decide to not bat like a muppet can bat 10.
