Been a while since we've seen so much reverse in a Test. Forgot how exciting it can be.

England have handled the reverse brilliantly. This could well have been a 400-450 kind of score if they hadnt been able to keep out all these great inswinging yorkers from Bumrah.

Whatever it takes!!!
In light of recent events, the biggest mistake from England may well have been making their best side available for most of this series.

**** if we lose this series please let it be by a large enough margin so that Australia won't qualify for WTC instead

Does anyone understand the WTC scoring?

Ive seen that England winning 2-0 wouldn’t be good enough, but 3-1 would be. Bizarre.
Its the percentage of points you have won against the points you have competed for. They had to do this because it became clear with the pandemic that not every team was gonna play the scheduled 6 series each.

That's not the reason for the outcome Howe's posting about - the reason is that two draws are worth less points than a win.

a win is worth more than twice of a draw, so winning 1-0 across two games is better than drawing both matches. No negative points for losses either.
