He flew three of his school mates to India during the Twenty20 tournament to keep him company.
I would have done exactly the same thing at the IPL tbf. Massive pay packet, regular but irrelevant cricket, foreign country. The ultimate road trip if you take a group of mates and get on the piss most nights.

with watson already in there and bowling, there perhaps wasn't a need for both of Marsh & Maxwell though

Well I don't think Voges would've played if Clarke was fit, so they obviously weren't quite seeing Watson as a fully frontline bowler given he hadn't bowled in a while. They wanted four specialists, Watson and a sixth "insurance" bowler in the eleven, and with Clarke having a dodgy back at the moment he wasn't going to fill that last role. Voges was the back up batsman, Maxwell was the backup allrounder, Coulter-Nile was the backup fast bowler and Doherty was the nominal squad spinner. I think the backup players made sense given what they wanted the best eleven balance to be.

It was more likely that Marsh or Watson were going to be ruled out injured than two specialist batsmen at once, especially given how injury-prone Watson and Marsh are. I don't even know the next batsman in line would've been anyway.. Smith? Haddin? Khawaja?

Can we call in someone for Clarke? It wont happen, but Michael Klinger would be a decent option given he's accustomed to English conditions and is actually a very good one day opener.

'Like', but you forgot to cast aspersions on the credibility of the cricket. Davey Warner a cheap non-performer, just make sure his minibar remains fully stocked

I think this proves that human stupidity really is infinite.

I did not think it possible for one human being to be so mind-numbingly stupid.

It would be a joke if you were allowed to.
