Give jack he jacket, Anderson was amazing. Perfect line and length and relentless pressure.
Stokes was excellent also.
Pleased with how we went about it even if the final result wasn't the best. We haven't applied ourselves that well for a while.
With the pitching breaking up like that in the final session, I think we need to get to 300ish somehow. That would be about par. Shannon Gabriel will probably be horrible to face on this pitch.

The pitch is beginning to look like a dalmatian. Spots here and there.
300 is definitely par.
England's openers might vulnerable. Looking forward for tomorrow.
They tried to be hospitable. Jet-skis, pool, pool deck chairs.
I couldn't hear a single conch shell blaring. Un-West Indian.
The only horn that was heard was the stupid vuvuzuela which is synonymous with IPL cricket now.

Yep that was like a home match for England. Shame, I hope it picks up over the weekend.
We need to find a way of getting to 300, then we're in business.

Yep, at least the board will make some money from this tour I guess.
How do you think we'll bowl on this? The way the pitch behaved tonight, Gabriel should be a horrible bowler to face and at least 5mph quicker than anything on display today.
Holder should be decent too with his extra bounce and relentless line and length. Looking forward to it!

Quite possibly, having Rashid at 10 is insane. Still, it should be quite a sight watching our Pacers. It's a strength of ours and at least we've got some sort of total on the board to allow them to have a crack

Bravo wasn't chasing money, he was blacklisted for (completely accurately) calling CWI leader Dave Cameron a big idiot. Cameron has been an unmitigated disaster for the West Indies, everything that man has put his grubby hands on has turned to ****e.

Yesterday only made me feel more stronger that they should have played Olly Stone in the last test in SL, rather than Broad. Wasted opportunity to blood a quick bowler. England attack yesterday completely lacking in pace. Same problem as they always have away from home. Anderson and Stokes very good, but you need contrasts. Be interesting to see how much Windies get out of the pitch today - looked like there was some up and down bounce. Hopefully England's long batting lineup makes up for the lack of pace in the bowling.

Yeah it was a pretty high standard, Windies batted very well in the first two sessions and couldn't quite keep it up for long enough to bat England out of it. 300 looks a good-ish score.
The fact that England's one specialist quick was head and shoulders over the others suggests that sacrificing a bowler of Broad's calibre was not worth it. Curran looked very gentle, it was a reminder of why he has as many wickets as he has sixes.

I'll also add on Ben Stokes:
a) It's a good job he bowled well, because a strategy that relies on him to bowl 20 overs a day is a pretty ramshackle approach and
b) Him opting for aggressive bounce over swing (of which is is perfectly capable) is another reason why Broad would have been more effective than Curran/Rashid and why the Windies have a better attack than us for this deck

Identifying an issue isn't the same thing as fixing it, and I've seen nothing from Stone that says he actually bowls faster than Anderson and certainly not Stokes. He just swings the ball less.
