***Official*** England in New Zealand series 2013

Wish the commentators would stop going on about how our toss decision got screwed over by the weather. It happens in cricket, and the toss is an advantage gained purely by guesswork anyway.

Get on wih it England. Warner would have 40 by now.

Of course, he'd have been out four overs again, but still.

Good start with the early wicket - was pretty pleased to hear the clink of the ball onto the wickets over the radio.

Oh and a dropped catch? FFS, so typical of us at the moment. Unlucky Boult, like always

If we are going to keep limiting international cricket to December and Autumn, I wonder if New Zealand has given any thought to bringing back the concept of the reserve day? Not necessarily as a gap hanging in the middle of a match like it used to, but as a day tacked on to the end of each test match and only used if needed.
IMO we should have reserve days especially if, as looks likely, we keep scheduling 2-test series. They're pretty rubbish when one or both match is rain affected.

Reserve day perhaps shouldn't kick in to ensure a full 450 overs are bowled.... maybe have one only to make the overs up to 400 or something. Still like our rain-affected draws

Is Boult under a witch's curse or something? He's the most unlucky bowler I've ever seen.
Yeah it's ridiculous - and it's not even 'unlucky' as in actually just bowls a touch too short and too wide and gets plays-and-misses (like 'unlucky' Southee for a period) - how many catches have been dropped off him now? Amazing.
