After all that, Leach gets one with his first delivery and the second one goes for four byes. As you say, it might just be taking some turn.
253 looking a long way off for Notts.
Samit Patel wasn't one of the 11 men to bat in the first Notts innings, but he is in at number 6 in the second innings. How does that work?

Last year I read an article in the cricketer saying Glamorgan should drop out of the county system altogether as they had a couple of seasons finishing bottom. It's great to see them doing well this time around and what an achievement it would be if they can finish in the top 3 and get promotion. Hopefully not at the expense of Middlesex mind you

Sam Hain with a pair of centuries, still think there could be an England player in there. He certainly should be ahead of Vince in OdIs going forward.

Tommy the deaf dumb and blind kid should be ahead of Vince. Vince should never wear an England shirt again.

Hain is a bit like Hameed, hyped, did well then went horrible. There is probably a player there but is he ready now?

Hain is back into Lions squad, so hope he can put a few performances in. I like him still.

Feels like a long time since he first came on the scene but these things happen. It is a lot easier to look brilliant at 19 than it is at 23, we see it all the time.

Surrey's awfulness is becoming even worse as the season progresses. Any other year, they'd be looking odds on to be relegated. With only one side going down they may get lucky this year, but a loss at Nottingham this week would see them horribly close, especially if Ashwin continues to give Notts hope as the pitches become more spin friendly in July and August. Even allowing for injuries to Pope and Virdi, attitude seems to be a problem, not least judging by Stewart's comments after the loss to Kent. Not quite as good as you thought you were, boys. And maybe age is beginning to catch up with Morkel, on whom we were over-dependent last year.

See we have finally decided to give Parkinson a game and he takes 6-23. Madness how little he has played, especially when the played Parry ahead of him.

It’s an odd one. He started so well in red ball then had a couple of bad seasons whilst his white ball cricket kept getting better and better having been poor up to that point.

Suspect the usual suspects will whinge about his nationality if he plays Tests or ODIs though.

Trent Bridge taking more spin than I can ever remember, with Virdi currently on 5 for 39 on Day 2. Good comeback for the lad actually.

Notts decision to play on a used pitch not paying off seemingly. Virdi outbowling Ashwin, or more likely just Surrey bats better prepared than Notts right now. Joe Clarke in terrible knick right now like most of the notts bats.

Warwickshire starting to get some of the bowlers back - stone, brookes. Batting very light this week with Hain and Sibley with the lions, bell still injured. Going to get rolled by Essex it looks like, keeping the pressure up on Somerset.

Good to see Harry Brook back in the Yorkshire side and given a bit of protection down at 5.

I wonder whether it's also because the pitch has deteriorated even further since Day 1 if it's a used pitch. Surrey's batting hasn't been clever lately.

Second session on Day 2 and Surrey have just lost both openers to spinners opening the bowling for Notts. And that after Virdi took 8. A points deduction and a defeat here would just about see Notts relegated, you'd think.

Virdi really does give it a lovely rip.

Surrey with Virdi and Lancashire with Parkinson have done it right imo. Both came into the season with injuries and they've had to bide their time and gain form again in the 2s, but they've been brought back in when in form and conditions have suited and performed well.

Hampshire with Crane is the opposite kind of thing. In the past they've probably played him when they shouldn't have.

Doubt we would have seen much of Crane so far this season if Dawson had not been in the England squad. I am assuming Brad Taylor is injured or something because he would be a more obvious replacement.
