Love the cricinfo headline 'Grievous bodily Harmer'. Thought about making the same pun last night but passed up the opportunity.

Joe Clarke WAG. Hope he can kick on now, but a 4th day ton striking at 90 chasing a massive total against quality spin bowling is seriously impressive

It worked well when they used to refer to Harmison as 'Grievous bodily Harmison' but seems a bit weird for a spinner tbh

Colly 11 years older than the next oldest Durham player in the side today. 8 years old than anyone in the Worcestershire side.

He's also older than one of the umpires. And two players in the match are less than half his age.

Anyway it's pink ball week if anyone hadn't noticed...

Sky should have put one of these games on the tv. no mens internaitonal cricket, dunno if the womens is on. Evening slot. Not much other sport on.

zafar interview. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...money-cricket-surrey-england?CMP=share_btn_tw

few early wickets.

yorkshire didn't even select plunkett or willey in their squad this week although they were available. Plunkett subsequently called upto the lions to replace jamie overton. Yorkshire attack a little too medium paced for my liking this week. Given their resources always think it's worth having someone who can bowl a bit quicker. Batting strong tho with root and bairstow back.

Hameed's last chance to impress the selectors - can't help wondering whether Lancs playing him in the limited overs stuff was a mistake

Will be interested too see if Buttler goes in at 3

As for Colly - if ever Durham needed something special from him and Stokes it's this afternoon

 I did wonder myself but this has happened already in atleast one match this season. Crossed my mind that maybe teams have been asked to play their England batsmen at later times to actually make use of this fixture.

edit***

Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes told BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"Durham had a good fightback. We learnt a lot from their innings and changed the tactics.

"We felt we needed to get the ball soft by belting it a few times, and also try to knock their bowlers off their stride when the ball was at its most dangerous.

"The move served its purpose. But we also have to pay tribute to Brett D'Oliveira, who played extremely well."

Sanga tons up yet again. What a legend

Also just noticed that Bresnan got his 500th first-class wicket, well done to him

Is this Sanga's first pink ball century? Should have let him get a double, Slurrey evil.

Yea that was harsh.

In other news:

ARI Umeed 98* (330b 5x4 0x6)

3 overs to go for the day. Has actually sped up considerably as well. Brought the 50 up off 220 balls. Has not hit a boundary for 106 balls.

And hits the 6th four in 331 balls to reach his century.

Essex 373/0. Cook on 193*.

What a miserable experience that must be for a bowling side. One of Finn and Roland-Jones is supposed to bowl for England this summer, but it seems more likely they'll both hand in their notice after this.
