Can you read? He said he "wouldn't be sure". Everyone here knows that a) Sreesanth loves to talk trash b) several members of the Aussie side do, as well.
Well, seemingly I can as I replied to the post...and I'm replying to yours. Then again, I could just be incredibly lucky, seeing a bunch of letters on the page but not actually registering their meaning. Maybe I'm an idiot savant like Rainman...but I'm yet to talk about Qantas, so if I am I hide it well.

Thanks for the update on what everyone here knows, I'll note it for future reference. Any more examples you have of the above would be extremely useful in cutting down my posting time on here.

Yours Faithfully,

Stevie Wonder

lol at Symmonds... talking to Haddin ? No way you could see only reason came out was to have a go at Sreesanth hence why he tried to run him out... Sreesanth must be learning few things from NZ.

Harbhjan stop trying to be an idiot as well, if you can't take it than don't give it.. simple as that. Same goes for Symmonds too.
It is kind of funny that the guys who complain about it seem to be the guys that are famous (or infamous) for it.

dunno abt that but Gilchrist whining about T20 not being the true test of skills and making it seem as though ODIs are true test of skills etc. doesn't exactly show that they are too much "over" it, tbh... They didn't enjoy getting beaten and the fact of the matter is they were beaten reasonably comfortably as well and they didn't enjoy the way Indians celebrated it either. It probably fired them up and perhaps we are seeing the results in the way they are playing, they are clearly playing with a lot of focus, esp. the bowling and fielding, but there is nothing wrong in what Harbhajan said vis-a-vis them not being over their T20 defeat.

His comments about sledging on the other hand....... Pot. Kettle.Black.

Same with Symonds. He is a real loser, AFAIC.
I'm not sure it was whining, but anyway. I agree that Twenty20 is a lot more even, but that's probably why so many people like watching it. There's no room for error really, and a little bit of luck can see you through. Not that this happens every game. If one player is particularly on fire they can take the game away from the other team. I don't mind it...and I didn't like the idea at first. I still don't like the dancers...

What? We already had a law to stop no-balls being bowled. It gave a free run to the opposition, requried another ball to be bowled, and stopped that illegal delivery from taking a wicket. That's a huge deterrant and obviously no bowler would ever bowl a no-ball on purpose with that rule in place. However, that rule didn't create a situation where a batsman could slog the ball in the air or even allow themselves to be bowled and run a single without risk of losing their wicket, off a legal delivery.

It's completely contrary to the principles of the game. If they wanted to make the penalty more harsh that's fine (although unnecessary IMO), but that's a stupid way to do it. You could simply penalise the bowler more runs.
I wasnt a fan to start off with, but given the lack of no balls since it came in I dont mind it that much :)

What's the big deal with no balls anyway? The team that bowls it is penalized and you move on. I don't see the point in making a big deal about it.

Don't like all this free hitting business. Because if they are going to do that for bowlers, I want the bowler to get a free hit at the stumps every time someone plays an imperfect cover drive.

Not to mention the fact the huge advantage the free hit gives the batsmen when the umpires stuff up on the no ball call. As they invariably seem to do these days.

The Aussie team suddently looks a lot better doesn't it? Although Hopes' hitting ability at 7 will be missed - god, a week ago I'd not have guessed I'd be writing that. Hopes is quite stiff though - I was dubious, but he's done everything you could have asked of him filling in. Symonds will probably have to bowl a bit now.

Actually, thinking about it a bit more, I disagree with Hopes being dropped. I reckon it unbalances the side a bit. One of the quicks should have gone, and as I've said previously it should have been Clark. Yes he is improving, but I also think the conditions in the game in Cochin suited him as much as anywhere is EVER going to suit him. The pitch was a bit slower, and there his otherwise fairly hittable pace and accuracy made him a very useful bowler. On the majority of pitches around world his pace is likely to see him get targeted and punished. That's why I reckon Johnson is a better ODI bowler.

And BTW, I think I confused the run out attempt of Sreesanth as the LBW appeal. I think what happened was, Haddin was rapped on the pads, Sree went up in appeal, the ball dropped near Haddin and they tried to sneak a run so Sree quickly gave up his appeal and ran to pick up the ball. He picked it up, and then it is not clear who said what but words were seemingly exchanged between Haddin and Sree and then when Sree was walking back to his bowling mark, Symonds must have left the crease to have a go at Sree and/or to have a word with Haddin and then Sree hit the stumps and appealed for the run out.

Sorry that I confused it, I was attending to my 4 month old nephew at that time and didn't concentrate on the match at that point too much, so I had confused it as the continuation of the LBW appeal. Apologies to everyone.
Yeah Sree was having another staring contest with Hasddin this time while walking backwards. Symmonds didn't like it so decided to give a piece of his mind to Sree and walked out of the crease. Thaths why Sree went nuts and threw the stumps down.

hehe yeah exactly. If you're going to be out there dissing everyone else than you got to be prepared for whats going to come back to you and not have a cry about it.

yea same..i knew Hopes would do well from the start because he was in good form in Pakistan and i trusted both his batting and bowling

I hope our batting doesn't get caught up short...
but dont underestimate Brad Hogg as a batsman.. he's as good as some allrounders like Maharoof (if you compare stats) and then Binger at #8.. so heres hoping we are alright!

Bowling attack is obviously really strong...but sometimes you get the feeling 5 bowlers isn't needed anyway.. you'll do just as well with 4.. plus bowlers like Hopes/Pup/Symo..

bad selection overall..

Given how well Clarke has bowled, and that Symonds hasn't had to bowl, you wonder why they feel they need 5 specialist bowlers - I can't count Hogg as a fully fledged allrounder - he's a handy #8. And he's not, from whenever I've seen him play, capable of striking at 100-120 per 100 like a Hussey, Watson or now Hopes.

I think its really unfair to drop Hopes, he is such a handy cricketer to have and he is also in good form, though i think Hogg can do a decent job with the bat at 7 but i don't think he is capable of tonking the ball, which is a handicap for a batsman batting as low as 7, but lets wait and watch how this new line-up works for the Aussies.

Powar's recent poor run

Is now wicketless in 4 matches across 2 series. This is worse, statistically, than Harbhajan has ever been.

Given his fielding and batting, taking 2 or 3 wickets is his one mojo in ODIs.

good point! I personally would rather see Bhajji in the team for now....plus powar needs to improve his fielding if he wants to get into the ODI squad IMHO!

The same could have happened to Hogg and Clarke had the Indians batted sensibly. The Aussies had little trouble, as they played proper cricket shots for the occasion, and only hit the bad ones out. Not to mention, those were the frontline Aussie batsmen. In comparison, the Indians played too many rash shots out of turn (occasionally against the wrong bowlers) and Hogg was left to mop up the tail.

That said, Powar should make way for RP Singh, who's a much better fielder. Moreover, the lower order (especially tailenders Harbhajan and Zaheer) have to improve on their six-hitting, so that they can back up solid starts given by the top six, who can then take their own time and get settled, rather than play one big shot too many.
