*Official* Australia in Bangladesh 2021 (not red-ball)

Well, Cummins as well. They'll never play worse than they did today though. That's the worst Australian performance I'm aware of.
Hazlewood is better bowler than Cummins in limited overs cricket,Im still surprised that Australia dodge the bullet by not playing him at CWC 2019.

Wow, dire af from Oz. Smith and Warner aside, who are they missing? I mean, the pitch ain't the easiest to bat on, but ****in hell, just awful.

Can't imagine what would've transpired had Mushfiq and Tamim been in too
Finch, cummins, Maxwell

He averaged over 40 in the 2020 IPL (1 game 2021 IPL 0-35). Might be why he isn't get picked. He has done well in the Big Bash though recently. Think he is probably close. Suppose his career economy rate in T20I might be going against him.

Finch would absolutely be in Aus's first choice side though. But yeah, whether he'd have made a difference to the result is certainly arguable, he's been pretty average for a while now, unfortunately.

Nathan Ellis is impressive and his bowling is well suited for the shorter format. He got good variations, off cutters and back of the hand. I’d say a good find for Australia this series.

It would have been interesting to see how Labu would have done on these pitches, can't imagine it would have been worse than some of the clownery on show.

Credit to Bangladesh, its a cool win for them, but long term not sure what it will do for them. The pitches will be slightly different at the world cup!

Ellis was pretty gun in the BBash IIRC. Not bad with the bat either (not this series obv). Like him.

@Burgey's point before about the guys shirking international duty for mental health and family reasons but cashing in on the ipl really makes a clown show of the whole tour. obviously props to bang bang for absolutely obliterating the team in front of them - you can only play your opponents' hand, however, man is it shitty.

no problem with players taking personal breaks!! just reeks of disingenuous when they cash the ipl cheques but don't report for international duty, which in an ideal world should be priority

Yeah I've been thinking this. Nothing has been learned from this series, and very little gained other than getting some experience into Afif and Shoriful.

And as you said, it's done little to advance our preparation for the World Cup. We needed flat decks to gain experience in compiling and chasing 170-190 scores.

I hope that will inform the way the pitches for the New Zealand series are doctored. We've had our fun, and it's served it's most pressing purpose; which is to allow me to post a series of increasingly condescending statuses gloating about our wins for my largely Australian audience.

Now it's time to doctor the pitches for the (arguably) more useful business of getting ready for the World Cup.

Not Terrible
I mean it definitely is, but also, five successive test losses to Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and West Indies is so cringe.
TBF the home losses to WI were tight as. I suspect people probably didn't give WI all that much credit for that series considering it was a Bangladeshi squad without Shakib. Made it seem more business as usual than WI overcoming some of the worst touring conditions (admittedly against a crap team)

Yeah they were bloody good. So were Afghanistan when they beat us. Both black armband results though.
