If there are some mental illnesses issues we aren’t aware of, that’s a different issue. But if they did it so they can play in the IPL, that’s a forfeit. Sorry bro. Thats ridiculous.
Indeed. Shame that the ECB didn't have the spine to call it what is. Another test in god knows when shouln't have been enough to placate them.

He's not wrong though. There's never going to be a time when people don't have unvaccinated kids, and the virus is endemic, so a touring party member testing positive will be common.
NOt really. Even Tom Harrison spoke about this. Its different if an analyst tests positive but the physio (and the only physio) who has basically worked with every player testing positive is very different. I would actually think its worse than one player on the sidelines testing positive. And unvaccinated kids would hopefully be a thing of the past within the next 8-12 months.

You are being ridiculous here. Playing the IPL is not what the players were worried about. They were worried about getting covid when they are with families. IPL was something BCCI was worried about and honestly, neither board cares about the players as much as they do about the money so anything that screws both of them is a win.

Tbf it would be a forfeit at any other level. In amateur league you might get a sympathetic hearing if a lot of players caught covid. But "we've all tested negative for covid... but some of us have Concerns!" is a forfeit, a fine, and expulsion if it happens more than once.

I am totally ok with this being a forfeit coz it will show up BCCI for prioritizing IPL. Unfortunately, ECB makes money off the IPL too.
