NSW were awful, but QLD way too good. Didn't drop the ball until the 70th minute, which is very impressive.

I knew they were going to win tonight. If they could convince themselves that an African word held some sort of mystical power over them as a team 2 years ago when most of them can barely speak English, Munster's dad dying was going to be the ultimate motivation. They were never going to lose.

If NSW could kick, they would have won the series, which is crazy looking at the first halves trotted out in the last 2 games.

Laurie Daley as a coach hey...I don't think Madge would have let them put in the effort they did in the last couple of matches. Some of the players picked wouldn't have been there.

Dearden an obvious MoM, he was awesome tonight.

players who have won more origin deciders than nathan cleary
edrick lee
brenko lee
corey allan
gehamat shibasaki
kurt mann
trent loeiro
jake friend
mitchell pearce
selwyn cobbo
reece robson

i think it's actually horrendously unfair to blame cleary for his decider losses, each has an explicable reason beyond "nafe can't get it done in big games" and the way he plays in grand finals shows that he can. but **** me the media will be all over him

That may be the game that kills what was left of me caring about league.
It's been a hundred years, how the **** can we not figure out what a forward pass is?

Not blaming the refs, QLD were obviously the better side, and Dearden was phenomenal.
But the frustration that comes from watching games just so far outweighs the enjoyment now, and if feels like the majority of games the talking point afterwards is how much the ref ****ed up.
I feel like I'm becoming the cranky old man waffling about "back in my day", but they're making a worse and worse product when it should be getting better and better.

(Definitely not swayed by the horrible year for my club and state)

We lost Moses and QLD lost Cherry-Evans...one of those losses was an advantage to the team losing them and the other wasn't.

Dearden fully deserving of Man of the Series too, despite only playing 2 matches.

Unlike the other bloke who did the same a few years back.

Which pass are we taking about?

The appointment of Daley as coach makes it hard not to be a conspiracy theorist

No way that he should have been given another stint in charge if appointment was merit based

yeah but he just gets it when it comes to Origin, and that's more important than being an actually decent coach, you have to get Origin and be Origin in order to truly transcend the game and lift the sum of the parts above what they are to make an Origin capable outfit, Daley just gets it, lives it, breathes it, probably smells it with that nose of his, it's just the vibe of Origin, you can't just coach Origin, you have to feel Origin and make sacrifices, lord knows how these boys get the motivation with 6 figure salaries and match bonus payments, it's all about passion and wanting it more.

Sorry I saw an image of Gus Gould 7 years or so ago and it's just stuck with me.

League is getting harder to like at club level but I think I'm over origin now. Over the years the calls have favoured Qld. NSW should've won at Perth and this game wouldn't have mattered. The Klein referring performance in game 2 has grown from impacting the last game to deciding the whole series. I wonder what club coaches make of it? I mean Ivan Cleary provides the core of his side for origin and then watches Klein turn them into punching bags for Qld. Surely affected clubs are going to protest the cost of origin as being too great for their own season.

It was nauseating seeing Tino saying they were motivated for game 2 because they were mad at the press calling Slater a grub. For a start he is a grub and secondly Qld won because Klein basically gave them all the ball. The entire series is maddening and I'm left thinking what I gave up last night to watch this low energy farce from the Blues. I won't be watching next year. Origin isn't good enough anymore to shelve other plans for it.

You have to be extremely biased to think that refs have overwhelmingly favoured one team over another in recent years

For every match where Queensland is favoured, there’s another where NSW gets the rub of the green

The days of Gomersall are long gone

While Gomersall is the pinnacle example the bias has become less obvious but real all the same and it's not bias to point it out. I won't pick over every crucial decision. The 2nd game of this series can stand as an example of what I mean.

I'm not going to cop an accusation of sour grapes (not that I think you have) either. There's been countless times sides I support or played in have been beaten and I've accepted it without anything more than disappointment. Origin is different and I feel it is rigged separate to every other contest. I'm not watching it again as the same old BS story of good ole Qld fighting back against the tremendous odds gets replayed over and over again like an old Disney movie. Frankly it has no more credibility than a Globetrotters v Generals exhibition and I think club coaches, who stand to lose their seasons because their best players are turned into punching bags in the script, should start to complain and boycott the entire farce.

the nrlw is where the wbbl was a few years back; depth a bit sketch and especially in big moments dominated by the star players BUT you can tell that theres so much potential for development there if the main governing body can play their cards thght
fan interest has been immense too
