I like the idea of 4 groups of 4, then quarter finals etc. The more KO matches the better, but I don’t mind this format either and hopefully there will be a few crunch games towards the back end.

In terms of this tournament and it’s lack of something so far, blame Pakistan and SL for their shocking performances.

Everything wrong with the world cup format can be brought back to the fact that India's power makes cricket objectively worse. Firstly we lose two months of the year to the IPL. Then, because India played like crap in 2007 we get these ridiculous round robin formats that exclude minnows (except Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh).

The 2007 format was pretty good. What should happen is 4 groups of 4 progressing to a super 6s round from which the top two in each super 6 group progress to semi finals. We could make the groups based on region so that India, Pakistan and two minnows can be put all in the same group. It guarantees our India vs Pakistan game and pretty much ensures both sides progress to the second round.

Instead we're always going to have 10 India matches for teh ratingz.

i was thinking the best way to keep odis relevant would be to do what world rugby are proposing and having a world league.

rather than endless 7 match odi series with half strength teams in the middle of the night for one of those teams, have say 3 odis in one week with full strength sides. 12 nations in the top division, and they play each other within a year or 2.

pretty much like the test league except more needed for the format (imo)

Not a fan of IPL or other T20 leagues going around, but only India loses 2 months of the year due to IPL.

The 2 new ball rule should be done away with too. Reverse swing is extinct in ODIs.
