Which indian bowler in test lineup bowls at 125 against southafrica they were mostly 130-142km/h .Indian bowlers have always done the job on dead tracks so just shut up .Bowlers like lee, johnson, morkel, steyn, have also been hammered in india so just respect guys who bowl on dead tracks. Also you should add Steyn to that list he was MEDIOCORE on flat pitches against pakistan .

Actually Zaheer was frequently 125kph remember, although obviously he knows how to bowl and did well. Also, Steyn owned India on Ahmedabad. That's why he's the best.

And most Indian pace bowlers haven't ever done the job anywhere. What's it now - three in seventy years with the status of 'good' let alone great?

he is overrated ,he bowls on helpful pitches mostly and if you saw how he bowled on flat decks against pak you would now.Make steyn bowl on flat decks day in day out he will be no better. On Topic Aaron Plays for Delhi daredevils and jharkhand

Dude Steyn was bad against Pak b/c the pitches in Dubai were absolute roads. I am sure even McGrath would have found those pitches tough to bowl on to. The only thing that could work on those pitches and that too for only a few overs is reverse swing. Those were some of the worst roads ever made.

Besides he was obviously rusty in the series and was not bowling full steam - particularly in the first test.

Does that mean his performances in the series should be excused and forgotten? No.

Does that mean we can pass judgement on his ability to bowl on flat tracks from previous exploits? Yes, IMHO.

Seriously anyone suggesting Steyn isn't a good bowler on flat tracks because he struggled in UAE is making a foolish argument. It's singling out 2 instances on a career containing way more flat tracks. It's essentially a smaller version of pointing some two consecutive tests where Hadlee failed on green tops and extrapolating that to mean that he was a hopeless bowler on a general level, on greentops.

His achievements against India in India are incredible. People like to say that the ball was swinging as some sort of a reason for not giving Steyn's achievements in India their due, as if the swinging of the ball is an event completely independent to the skill of the bowler extracting said swing.

You do not get the point it was in response to silent striker ,steyn is a damn good bowler in the mordern era ,but there are few good test bowlers now so compared oto his peers he is overrated,If you make steyn or anybody bowl on roads consistently there perfromances are sure to drop,Next time steyn plays On flat track look for his performances also his record against india is on when the ball swung or reversed on dead tracks or on helpful tracks he has been hammered as were other bowlers. Also check out his ODI Record for a high class bowler his record is poor. Also can we be on topic here.

Dearie god, check out his stats in the subcontinent, esp India. Pl don't tell me he's been playing only on juicy tracks here.

I'm excited tbh. Been a while since I've seen an Indian bowler go above 145. Sreesanth touched it a couple of times, RP went about 140s a few times. But that was ages ago. And if you just look at the domestic comp, very few get above 130s to begin with. So this is exciting.

I agree on the point that if he can keep this up, then it'll be really impressive. With our track record he'll probably fade away :(
