This the same team that lost 0-4 in South Africa? Or were they mere impostors? ;)
Meh. You'd think I'd be embarrassed my lack of knowledge of ODIs has been shown up, but no! :p

Can you explain South Africa's ranking of #4?

Their recent test record is much worse than India's. Though I do agree with your 1-4.
I've put them at equal 4 because if India and South Africa played in India, I'd back India - in South Africa, I'd back South Africa.

I don't think South Africa are especially good, but India don't deserve to be 4 outright IMO.

Bad away record, only beating WI but a good home record

Same assessment as NZ but have only not won 2 home series since the begining of 2000 (1 against Aus & 1 against Eng) but after tomorrow will prob be 3 losses.
Can you update that list to be Not Lost, instead of Not Won?

I think that will change the whole complexion.

I can understand India being ranked at best #4 in tests after the Mumbai show, but how the hell can anyone put any team besides Australia and South Africa ahead of India in one-dayers, especially Pakistan. India just crushed Pakistan 4-1.

Personally, I rate Pakistan highly in one-dayers as well, but just behind India at #4 at the moment.

I think the most interesting part of this is the names people are giving to the tables. Crack up. Interesting that NZ are being ranked so low in ODI's, but I guess that is mainly a hanover from the series in South Africa where they were crud.

I think it's got more to do with the fact that most non-kiwis will never rate us, no matter how good we get.

I don't agree we were crud either. Those games were fairly close.

We were crud in terms of finishing them off and performing under pressure. I agree that we were not complete crud, but in terms of hammering the final nail, and the actual result, we were crud.

We also bowled crud to Kemp.

Crud.

Also love the way people are ranking the minnows, very interesting to see the way some are ranking the Zimbo's!

And CricketWeb's word of the day is:

crud
n.

1. Slang.
1. A coating or an incrustation of filth or refuse.
2. Something loathsome, despicable, or worthless.
3. One who is contemptible or disgusting.
2. A disease or ailment, imaginary or real, especially one affecting the skin.
3. Sports. Heavy, sticky snow that is unsuitable for skiing.

So now we all know ;)

No, why? We play to win the game or the series, not not to lose.

Doing that would change the complexion but it would also completely change the reason for the list and the whole point.

I disagree, for example: 1-1 in Australia is very much different than 0-3 in Australia. Yet, your rankings count them equally.

The same way, for England: 1-1 in India is better than 0-3 in India.
