Nah, he hasn't even played a match coming back from his injury yet, plus I'm enjoying his insightful comments on Fox Sports too much.

Bolly out means the replacement really should bowl a bit. That's a scary photo of Mitch on the screen ATM.

so it looks like Mussey has got phone call from CA.don't want to get my hopes up but if they draft him in that'l be a massive boost for our low order.we don't have to play Tait and Lee in all the games there's Hastings in the squad anyway as a replacement for one of them and could come in when we play Kenya and the other minnow which i cant recall the name.Johnson doesn't need a break he's bowling well atm and time out of the game will only make him rusty.

Anyhow if they want a bowler to come in then it should be James Pattinson.Siddle is just poo as a OD bowler.

Is Stuart Clark's career over? Hasn't he got any chance of making even an ODI comeback?
Stuey picked up a heel injury in the last Shield match in Melbourne vs the filth.

Not sure he's the LO answer anyway tbh.

The real danger with picking Hussey is that it does leave us vulnerable to injury, particularly with Tait and Lee in our squad. Having said that we do have Hastings as a backup anyway and if someone did pick up an injury we could sub them out for another bowler. It's a real shame that it was Dougeh that got injured instead of Paine or White.

Shows up the madness of having two keepers in the squad when any injured players can be replaced IMHO.

I'd go for Hussey tho; if Tait, Lee or Johnson does get broken another replacement can be summoned as I understand it and Hussey is far more likely to win ODIs than Siddle or whoever the other seam options in the frame are.

They're permanent replacements though. What if your keeper is injured for just three games?
Potentially tricky call, admittedly, but I still think two keepers is too much of a safety net for such an eventuality. A brace of stumpers means one is always going to be surplus to requirements unless one's deemed good enough to play as a specialist bat. With Ferguson in the squad too I can't see that happening for Paine.

I cant remember the last time an Australian keeper missed more than the odd, meaningless match for a minor injury

Every one of them (Haddin, Gilchrist, Healy etc) constantly played with minor injuries

All the team management needed to do was have Paine travel with the team in case Haddin suffered a series ending injury close to a game

As it is, they've just wasted a selection and, what's more, the guy wasnt even fit when the WC began!

Haddin was out for six months. He missed the tests v Pakistan in England didn't he? And the indian ODI series too. They all seem to break their damn fingers these days.

I blame Hilditch.

Haddin has been anything but reliable with injuries. He has missed plenty of cricket as shown by the number of ODI's that Paine has played.

Incredible that over the entire stretch of Ian Healy's career he missed one Test. Haddin has been first choice in ODI's and Tests for three years and we have seen involvement from Paine and Manou in that time. Cannot blame Haddin for this, but I like the comfort of a reserve keeper.

still haven't heared of the replacement!.just ****ing name it.

Pretty see they'll wait until the domestic final is finished today. A good spell from Nannes who just gets a wicket as type this or Pattinson or even Doherty could see them in the squad ahead of Siddle.

If we were worried about Haddin we could have taken Paine over as 16th man with the role of drinks maker. If Haddin was injured we can bring Paine in straight away (of course assuming hes out for the tournament).

I guess the issue is that we don't have anyone in the squad who's not a specialist keeper who can actually keep. That I know of anyway.
