By simply 'telling the story' people might sympathise with the curator so it's an emotional play to sway certain people by appealing to the sense of decency that they were demeaned.

And turned out that was comfortably the better of his two visits there (got a golden and 3 next time). And things don't seem to be improving for his 3rd either!!

I'm 100% certain Gambhir's at fault here. He's the type of chode that randomly shoulder bumps you on the streets and considers it a show of his...whatever. Just a very unpleasant human being.
