They haven't dropped Kuldeep because he wasn't in the team.

I don't particularly disagree with you, it's just very strange to frame him not being picked as being 'dropped' from a team that only existed in your mind.
Oh I agree, I'm saying in general if you have your second bowler in the squad there's no reason for him to not be in the playing 11.

What on earth is this xi from India? Why do you need three all-rounders FFS
Gambhir is picking a loser team to suit his existence. He's decided that the idea of picking more bowlers to take wickets is anti-national for some reason. If they left him behind after this tour, it'd be too soon.

a pal of mine suggested that if India wants to not lose badly they should play 10 batters and 1 bowler, this was the team he thought.

1. KLR
2. Jaiswal
3. Easwaran
4. Gill
5. Pant
6. Sudharsan
7. Nair
8. Jurel
9. Sarfaraz
10. Nitish Reddy
11. Prasidh

plan was to play 10 batters and bat forever so they could draw all the games.

Maybe Gambhir is of a similar mindset but not as brave.

Lots of allrounders works for SA.

6 man attack
Mulder/Jansen can actually bowl well though, and even then Mulder at 3 is a massive stopgap. There's no world where you can convince me that Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy will take enough wickets to pose a challenge on this surface. I would drug test them and investigate for match fixing if England lets them do that.

he’s also got a test bowling average in the (small sample) career as of today of 31
maybe he can kick on and start ripping through sides but until he proves he can do that at test level he’s had so much hype for someone who’s best achievements to date came as a Hobart Hurricane
No idea if this has been responded to on the subsequent pages but get in the bin if you're trying to pretend the 2019 WC didn't happen, you oaf

The only logic I can see is that rest Bumrah and try to force a draw somehow by picking batting depth. The pitch as an absolute road. Maybe that's our best hope

Don't get why Sai Sudharshan was dropped if Karun Nair takes his place at No.3.

If Karun Nair was more suited to No.3 then why did he not bat there in the first test ?

Sai Sudharshan batted at No.3 scored more runs than Nair in the match despite Nair coming in when India were dominating with the bat , sends the message that they don't know what they are doing in that dressing room. Dropping a No.3 on debut after 1 game is Incredibly harsh.

Hasn't worked for India before, why does he think it'll work now? I don't know man, making the same mistakes over and over again is called insanity, don't you think?

First Class Debutant
Interesting plan to Rahul here this morning. Bowling very straight, trying to either trap him infront or get him to clip one in the air to leg slip. Might work too, Woakes has bowled a few down leg and he's had a nibble at it each time, could easily go in the air through there.

I mean I'm agreeing. Not picking kuldeep is definitely insanity. And if you want to go the draw route, pick another batter instead of an AR.
But it's the only logic in my mind I can possibly think of for picking this dumb team.

If he's fit you pick him. End of. Rare talent.
